Registration for the 2011 NZSMI Conference - Achieving the Self-Care Future is now open. This year the theme will build on the success of earlier Conferences, particularly last year’s that had a special focus on regulatory affairs.
Conference highlights include the opening by the Minister of Health, The Hon. Tony Ryall, and a keynote address from Barry Urquhart of Marketing Focus, Western Australia who will present his research on “Self-Care and the Aging population”. Social media is creating an entirely new environment for consumer information - Ryf Quail of ZenithOptimedia and Jeremy O’Brien of TVNZ will bring different perspectives on the value of media on Self Care. Stephen Edmonds of IMS Health will bring a “Global update on the OTC marketing industry” showing trends and shifts across categories.
The Master of Ceremonies for the day will be Cameron Bennett, the current affairs broadcaster of TV fame. As a part of his duties he will facilitate a panel discussion which will attempt to address the recently announced resurrection of ANZTPA - a joint regulatory agency between New Zealand and Australia. The day will conclude with a special motivational message from a guest speaker. In the evening, following dinner, the Annual SMI awards will take place in a convivial environment that will allow for networking opportunities between delegates.
