Self-care has time and again proven to be a winning solution, both for consumers as it empowers them to maintain or improve their health status and for health professionals educating and fostering a relationship of trust with their patients. Leading to a more efficient utilisation of resources and more innovation in the provision of care,self-care has also proven a winning solution for healthcare systems and society as a whole.
The Conference will provide a unique forum for exchanging ideas and experiences. There will be ample time for networking with keynote speakers and industry colleagues.

Born and raised in Scotland, Stewart joined the New Zealand medicines regulatory authority (Medsafe) in 1993.
Dr Saul Shiffman PhD, Research Professor Psychology, Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh
Saul is Research Professor of Psychology (Clinical and Health Psychology), Psychiatry, Translational Clinical Research, and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also Senior Scientific Advisor to Pinney Associates, a science and policy consultancy with particular focus on Rx-to-OTC switches and risk management in pharmaceutical development and marketing.

Craig Wilson, Managing Director, Foodstuffs (Wellington) Co-operative Society Limited
Craig was appointed Managing Director of Foodstuffs Wellington in September 2009, following the resignation of Tony McNeil. Craig officially started in his new role in April 2010 after a two month transition period.

Registrations will be accepted by facsimile for those paying by credit card. Confirmation of your registration and a tax invoice will be sent upon receipt of your forms and fees.
Should you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you may reassign your registration to another person. Please notify The Conference Company of the replacement delegate’s name and contact details.

If you are unable to arrange a replacement, a refund (the full conference fee less an administration charge of NZ$75.00) will be made, providing notification is received by 25 September 2012. After that date, no refunds will be made.
If, for reasons beyond the control of the New Zealand-Self Medication Industry Association, the conference is cancelled, registration fees will be refunded after the deduction of expenses already incurred.
Bookings for accommodation can be made via the website at the type of registration. Bookings should be made no later than 25 September 2012. After that date no guarantee can be made that rooms will be available. In order to secure your reservation, full payment is required at time of booking. Prior to 25 September 2012 this payment is refundable. For any cancellations after 25 September 2012 or if you do not check-in, no refunds will be made.
At the Conference
Your registration pack will be available for collection from the Registration Desk located level 4 of Convention Centre. The desk will be open from 0800 – 1800 hrs on Thursday 25 October.
Dress for the meeting and social function is smart casual
Validated full day parking tickets will be available for purchase from the registration desk.
